Construction and intended use

The WGJ-BN INOX combines a buffer storage tank for heating water with an integrated domestic hot water heater. Inside, a stainless steel corrugated pipe acts as a heat exchanger, providing a large contact surface for rapid and efficient heat exchange and enabling instantaneous hot water preparation. The maximum operating pressure of the storage tank is 0.3 MPa.

The housing is made of black sheet steel; thermal insulation is provided by 100 mm of foamed, removable polystyrene foam; A laminate covering protects the insulation. If required, ELEKTROMET EJK 1500 to 9000 electric heating elements can be used to heat the boiler water.

Features and benefits

The combination of a buffer tank and stainless steel corrugated pipe enables continuous and space-saving hot water preparation without an additional storage tank. The large surface area of ​​the corrugated pipe ensures high heat transfer rates and short heating times.

The storage unit is suitable for integration into central heating systems such as boilers or heat pumps and offers additional flexibility in heat supply through optional electric heating elements.

Safety measures and installation requirements

The storage tank must only be operated in closed heating systems with a functioning safety valve. A safety valve with a maximum opening pressure of 0.3 MPa must be installed on the heating water return line; this valve should be positioned according to the markings on the housing. No shut-off valves may be installed between the safety valve and the storage tank.

A safety valve with a nominal opening pressure of 0.67 MPa (6.7 bar) must be installed at the cold water inlet to the stainless steel pipe. Temporary leakage of water from the safety valve can occur during normal operation and indicates that it is functioning correctly. The outlet must never be blocked or obstructed.

Recommended filters and protective measures

To increase the service life of the storage tank and the functionality of the safety valve, the manufacturer recommends the use of mechanical filter systems (e.g., wound filters) on the cold water inlet immediately before the safety valve. These filters remove solid contaminants such as sand, corrosion particles, or sludge.

Maintenance and operation

The functionality of the safety valve must be checked at least once a month and always before each restart after shutdown. Operating the storage tank without safety valves or with defective safety valves is prohibited and dangerous.

Repairs to storage tanks and water installations may only be carried out by qualified professionals with the appropriate certification. The installation and operation of filter and safety components must be carried out in accordance with the respective manufacturer's instructions.

Installation of a heating cartridge

During the warranty period, only electric cartridge heaters with insulated heating elements may be used to avoid voiding the warranty. ELEKTROMET's EJK type cartridge heaters meet this requirement and are suitable for this application.

The heating element must be installed according to the installation and operating instructions for the respective heating element. Work on electrical components should be carried out by qualified personnel.
