Double-walled chimney – modern chimney systems for safe and efficient exhaust gas technology
Structure and Function
A double-walled chimney consists of two concentric pipe walls with an air or insulation layer between them. This design ensures that the heat of the exhaust gas is retained within the inner pipe, while the outer wall remains relatively cool in the face of high outside temperatures. The resulting temperature gradient improves exhaust gas flow, reduces condensation, and maintains the fuel efficiency of connected heating appliances.
